bringing communities together to empower individuals facing homelessness and poverty to secure stable housing and make sustainable life changes.
On February 12, 1985, LPCS opened its doors providing shelter to 5 individuals at a community church. Today, we are able to provide housing, services and an empowering community to more than 120 people every night. Learn more about our history and journey here.
"Each page, as you color it...you'll learn more about LPCS and also about the journey that some of the residents have been on for the past year or more...I'm hoping that this is a fun way that we can stay connected during this time but also share with our digital communities a little bit about LPCS and the work that they're doing to help homeless residents in Chicago."
IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING CORONAVIRUS
As the novel coronavirus/COVID-19 has begun to spread in the Chicago area, LPCS is taking important steps to protect the health of our Guests, Volunteers, Staff and Greater LPCS Community. We provide interim housing and permanent supportive/affordable housing to 120 individuals, many of whom are vulnerable to coronavirus due to pre-existing conditions. It is our #1 priority to protect their health and safety. Therefore we have established and implemented comprehensive protocols for our Guests, Staff and Volunteers in order to help keep LPCS coronavirus-free and foster an environment focused on prevention and stopping the spread of germs. As we navigate this unprecedented situation, we will need the help of our dedicated network of volunteers and supporters.Volunteer Protocol & How You Can Help
